Abstract

The present research intends to contribute with the geomorphological knowledge of the Juqueriquerê Plateau and the São Sebastião Island, located on the north coastal of São Paulo State. It will be used thermochronological and geomorphological technics supported by the geological knowledge of the area. The thermocronological method is the Apatite Fission Track Analisys, that provide data like age and thermal histories that can be correlated with topographic levels and provide information about erosion and uplift on the area. Besides, it will be possible to correlate the ages and the levels defined with the erosional surfaces. This project is part of the thematic project: Exumação da Plataforma Sul-Americana a Exemplo da Região Sudeste Brasileira: Termocronologia por Traços de Fissão e Sistemáticas Ar/Ar e Sm/Nd. (AU)
