Abstract

Hydrogel nanoparticles (diameter of the order of nanometers) have the advantages of the reduced size and the biocompatibility of hydrogels. Those particles can be used as drug delivery systems, because their ability to infiltrate living tissue, liberating interest substances. The objectives of this project are the development of methodologies to produce nanostructured and microstructured hydrogels from derivatives of vinylpyrrolidone. Nanometric particles can be produced using some matrices. In this project, it will be approached the use of mechanical methods (dispersions water/oil or spray drying in the production of microparticulated material) and chemistries (use of vesicles and micelles as formatter systems) for the fabrication of micro and nanoparticles of polymer. The crosslinking of polymer will be carried through photochemical and redox reactions. The micro and nanoparticles will be characterized through the distribution of size (microscopy, light scattering) and stability front to the drying and hydratation. Parallel we will develop micrometric and submicrometric structured hydrogels, printed in inert matrices through the photo-crosslinking of PVP films using photolithography, defining the contour conditions and impression resolution.
