Abstract

The piezoelectric sensors with polymer Teflon FEP®, based on term-formed electrets technology, are elements that can compete in price and functionality with ceramic and crystal piezoelectric sensors. Electrets Teflon FEP®'S are generally elements analogous to magnets, that retains electric charge for long periods, sometimes for hundreds of years. In the Brazilian technology , the process of production of those piezoelectric sensor is manual and handmade gone back to prototypes laboratoriais. Those prototypes present high piezoelectric coefficients, superiors to 300 pC/N. Those excellent results indicate the possibility to develop prototypes and procedures for its production in industrial scale and, consequently, to enlarge its range of commercial applications. Among those applications, there are presence sensor, slim keyboards, scales dynamics and sensor of pressure in enviromental contends insulating oils, similar to tanks of transformers. In this context, the proposed work seeks to develop new techniques of production of piezoelectric polymer sensors with term-formed electrets.
