Abstract

In contemporary society, the scientific conheciemento is necessary so that people can argue and discuss the implications and consequences that science and technology bring to the economic development and socio-environmental. From the perspective of learning by literacy, this research believes that the language is very argumentative valued by the scientific community. Ratings such as the National High School Examination (ENEM) show that middle school students have not succeeded in producing consistent answers from data that require interpretation and according to the curriculum guidelines for secondary education, the argument is one of the skills being developed this stage of education. Given this, the present study aims to investigate, which is the source of knowledge mobilized by middle school students to build Arguments. Thus, it is intended to use as a place to search the School of Application of the University of Sao Paulo and a subject of study verbal interactions of two classes of high school with thirty students each. They will be used to collect data cameras, audio recorders and camcorders. The verbal interactions will be compiled and fragments of these will be recovered to allow its analysis. Yes the speeches collected intends to investigate the origin of the knowledge that mobilized the words and analyze the arguments according to the standard of argument, Toulmin (1958). (AU)
