Abstract

Faced with international trends, where the market imposes increasingly stringent export of Brazilian products, traceability becomes a relevant tool to ensure product quality to consumers. In the process of traceability seek a fabric that reflects the ancient diet in order to detect the inclusion of animal meal, even if they are given only in the early stages of the life of the pig. In addition, an attempt is also a fabric that quickly replace their carbon, so that might indicate the change of power only in the final stage of pig production. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the turnover in several tissues of pigs at different stages of creation through the technique of stable carbon isotopes in blood, muscle and bone tissue so that we can elect (s) tissue (s) body (is) more appropriate (s) for use in studies of traceability. Will be used 144 animals from a commercial line and barrows. The experimental design is randomized, consisting of four treatments with the replacement of diets on different days. The tissue samples will be analyzed in a mass spectrometer Delta-S elemental analyzer coupled to the determination of carbon isotope ratios. The data obtained from isotopic analysis will be analyzed by the method of exponential equations of first order of the software Origin ® 6.0 Professional (Microcal Software, 1999) for comparison between treatments.
