Abstract

Tambaqui is considered an omnivorous species, with a tendency to frugivory, and in the natural environment, zooplankton, fruits and seeds are the mainly feeds. Nowadays is one of the main species raised in Brazil, mainly in the North, Northeast and Midwest. Although it is a fish species with great commercial importance, there are few nutrition's researches about tambaqui. Thus, this study will be divided into three experiments to attend different objectives: to determine the digestible amino acid values of some selected foods; to estimate the digestible amino acid requirements, through the concept of ideal protein, and to evaluate the effect of the lysine and / or methionine supplementation the in dietary conventional in the turnover of stable isotopes of carbon -13 and nitrogen-15 in muscle tissue for juvenile tambaqui.
