Abstract This work intends to investigate in mythical and mediatic texts the confrontation between man (self) and his ego (not-self). Therefore three objects which narrative presents the said confrontation are observed: Bhaghavad Gita, Tales of Power and the comics´ book Ramayan 3392 A. D. By exploring this confrontation's theme on these works it is searched to analyze the theme's persistence, which is born in Ancient times and kept up in modern mythologies and Medias, as in the case of mediatic vehicle comics´ book. Thus it is looked forth to prove the possibility of this interpretation on mediatic texts; to prove the universality related to this confrontation man vs ego; and to analyze the return of this theme nowadays, which is done as much with the help of a sacred value investment, regarding Tales of Power, as without this investment, regarding comics' books. As theoretical basis to the objects´ analysis it is used Greimas´ discursive semiothics´ referential, while to observations concerning mythologies are taken mainly Dumézil, Eliade and Propp´s works. | |
