Abstract

The antiseptic solutions are widely used in nursing procedures. The general objective of this study is to verify how the use of antiseptic solutions in hospital large and specific objectives are to check which antiseptic solutions used in the service; recognize the professional who is responsible for storage, distribution, packaging, use and Disposal of antiseptic solutions, to inquire how it's performed the storage, handling, use and dispose of antiseptic solutions, which identify the knowledge that nurses have on the subject. Quantitative study, exploratory, descriptive, to be held in a large hospital in the State of Sao Paulo, after approval by the Ethics in Research College of Nursing of Ribeirão Preto - USP. Data collection will be undertaken by the researchers themselves, through structured observation and interview. The data collection instrument for observation will apply to all clinics of the hospital using antiseptic solutions. Will be identified and the solutions used covered the data that relate to the standard solutions by the Ministry of Health, referring to the storage, distribution, packaging and disposal. In parallel with the observation in clinics observed, there will be an interview, the nurses responsible for duty the day of collection, who agree to participate in the survey through the Term of Consent. Data analysis is performed with the aid of Microsoft Excel, through analysis of frequency and percentage, based in literature and legislation on the subject.
