Abstract

This article refers to the study to evaluate the metabolic profile, hematology, stress and performance of lambs in rotational stocking on pasture Cynodon spp. cv. Tifton-85 subjected to different rates of leaf area of stubble. The experiment will be carried out at the trial of Forage Crops, Department of Animal Science FCAV / UNESP, Jaboticabal. The experiment will consist of eight treatments, four of the residual leaf area indices (0.8, 1.4, 2.0 and 2.6), concentrated energy supplement and no supplement, thus comprising a randomly arranged in a factor [4 (IAFr) x 2 (supplement concentrated and group not supplemented)] using eight replicates per treatment, each animal a repetition. Will be determined the nutritional value of forage by collecting samples of pasture, study of the distribution of morphological components of the pasture, estimates of consumption by an external marker, in addition to animal performance and assessments of the metabolic profile, evaluating: ²-hydroxybutyrate, cholesterol, glucose, protein, creatine, albumin, hemoglobin, total protein and urea. Blood profile: white blood cell count, neutrophils and total hematocrit. To evaluate the stress use the blood concentration of cortisol. As a way to ensure that the assessment of stress is performed by controlling other stress factors will be taken the five freedoms. The parasitic infection will be monitored from 15 to 15 days through the EPG and when necessary will be held on worming. The data will be submitted to ANOVA using SAS software. (AU)
