Abstract

This Project aims at initiating the researcher on contemporary theater studies from a critical reading of two plays of brazilian ficcionist and playwright Caio Fernando Abreu (1948-1996), author of eight plays assembled in posthumous TEATRO COMPLETO DE CAIO FERNANDO ABREU. That set - few expansive and still few known in academic centres - constitutes a distinct experimentalism that proposes new possible forms for the theater in times whereat, after Drama's crisis verification as it is explained by Peter Szondi in his TEORIA DO DRAMA MODERNO [1880-1950], it's used to talk about "posdramatic crisis", theater wherein are disclosed - in a escarce way - the dialogues and the relations among the persons. Understood in modernity current context, Caio Fernando Abreu's theater denounces man kind's comunication dificulty, human relations and dialogue rarefaction, which survives in his theater only as an utopia. The forms that are built by the playwright to express properly these bruising themes are the points our research proposes to enlighten.
