Abstract

The aim of project is to develop luminescent optical sensors for determination of oxygen and temperature. To this end, organic-inorganic hybrid films containing the following complex: [Eu(tta)3(H2O)2] and [Gd(tta)3(H2O)2], [Tb(acac)3(H2O)2] and [Gd(acac)3(H2O)2] will be prepared. The complex will be anchored or dispersed in silicones polymer films by hydrosilylation reaction and their concentration will be evaluated in order to obtain a sensing phase with better analytical characteristics. For casting the films dip-coating or spin-coating techniques will be used, aimed at to obtain thin films suitable for optical applications. Films containing complexes individually anchored or dispersed will be initially characterized and evaluated. Afterwards, films containing two complexes will be prepared for simultaneous determination of temperature and oxygen. The performance of sensors and the analytical figures of merit such as sensitivity, analytical working range, reversibility and response time among others will be evaluated, as well as the influence of potentially interferents species, aiming to obtain simple and robust sensors to be used in several analytical applications.
