Abstract

The therapeutic potential of many plant species is attributed to biologically active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids and terpenoids, which have been presented as promising for the development of new anti-inflammatory drugs and other drugs for therapeutic application. Plantspecies typical of mangroves present in its chemical composition different special metabolites, such as polyphenols, terpenoids, polysaccharides and other compounds in small concentration, it has been proven by some actionspharmacologically important as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, antifungal and antibacterial. However, despite the biological potential of these species, there are few significant studies that demonstrate theeffective application of the same alternatives as for the exploration of bioactives. The objective of this project is to verify the action of ketone and methanol extracts of leaves of the mangrove Laguncularia racemosa on theaction of bovine trypsin and phospholipase A2 from Crotalus durissus terrificus, initiating a evaluation of potential compounds.
