Abstract

The aim of this project is to study the process of electrochemical degradation via direct anodic oxidation, cathodic electrogeneration via hydrogen peroxide (H2O2 and H2O2 / Fe (II)) and the two associated with the use of ozone and UV radiation (O3 / UV processes and O3 / UV / Fe (II)), four dyes used in food industry: Amaranth, Tartrazine, Brilliant Blue FCF and Fast Green. Additionally, it is intended to identify the possible intermediates formed during the degradation of these compounds to establish the mechanisms of degradation for each dye. The efficiency of the degradation processes, applied individually or in combination, will be evaluated by the kinetics of oxidation of dyes and byproducts, depending on the current density and / or the applied potential and the speed of flow within the reactor and the ozone content , taking into account technological and economic aspects involved in each process and / or operational condition of the treatments used.
