Abstract

During the last years the study of nuclei far from beta stability line (exotic nuclei) has become an object of great interest specially because they constitute an extremely wide and unknown research field, involving since proton and neutron rich light nuclei up to super-heavy elements. Exotic nuclei present extremely low binding energies and large isospin values constituting a "laboratory" to test the nuclear models, in addition to play an important role in the stellar evolution and primordial nucleosynthesis. Thus, the proposed research project consists in the investigation of the interaction between light radioactive nuclei, such as 6He and 7Be, and light targets. We intend to perform elastic scattering and reaction angular distributions measurements at low energies using the RIBRAS facility of University of São Paulo, which will be part of a systematic investigation involving exotic beams on light and heavy targets.
