Abstract

Dynamic absorbers are a compact, low cost, and easy to implement solution to reduce forced response of machines in a given excitation frequency. In this project, rotating dynamic absorbers are modelled with stiffness and damping viscoelastic elements. In this case, the mathematical model of the rotating system + dynamic absorber is built and the absorber is designed aiming at desired dynamic characteristics. For that, the Finite Element Method is adopted and the geometry of the absorber is optimized with help of MSC. Nastran software. The effects of a dual dynamic absorber with viscoelastic material is also investigated in this project. (AU)
