Abstract

The Group of Polymer Bernhard Gross has a long experience in the study of electrical and optical properties of polymers and in the fabrication of organic optoelectronic devices. Recently, a PhD thesis (Adriana Pereira Ibaldo - February 2010) was related to the study of materials applied to photovoltaic devices, and a Master thesis (Douglas José Coutinho - to finish in August 2011) is buiting organic photovoltaic cells having efficiencies close to 4 %. Other thesis about photovoltaics is in progress in the Group of Polymer. The present project has as goals:1.Synthesis of new compounds D-A type by Suzuki and Stille routes;2.Characterization of the synthesized chemical structures and suprastructures;3.Photophysical characterization of excitons: static and of temporal resolution;4.Fabrication and characterization of photovoltaic devices;5.Investigation of the morphological influence in the device performance.
