Abstract

We aimed to evaluate the Structure-Process-Result for the health care of patients with Diabetes mellitus in an academic health center in São Paulo. This is a descriptive, qualitative approach, which uses components of the Assessment of Structure, Process and Outcome defined by Donabedian, 1984. Study subjects will be patients diagnosed with Diabetes mellitus followed in the health units of the Western District. Data collection will take place from a guiding roadmap through semi-structured interview, addressing issues concerning user satisfaction regarding the services received. We will observe through registry by field diary, containing aspects of structure and process of care for patients with Diabetes mellitus. The interviews will be recorded and transcribed and shall be read vertically and horizontally of each interview. In terms of analysis we use the technique of content analysis in thematic, following the logic of pre-analysis, material investigation and processing of results, interference and interpretation. The study aims to improve the quality of care provided by nursing teams, the prospect of a comprehensive health integral care, in addition to being a documented source of Structure-Process-Result important to the formation of human resources in nursing.
