Abstract

This project aims to continue the research initiated by the candidate, Dra. Emille Ishida, during her post-doctoral experience in the Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (IPMU) - Japan, which was financially supported by the Brazilian agency CAPES, under process number 1313-10-0, between September/2010 and August/2011. At IPMU, the candidate had the opportunity of working in the implementation of modifications in a light curve simulator code, aiming to reproduce future observations that will be made with the Hyper Suprime Camera (HSC), to be installed in the SUBARU telescope. In this project, we propose to apply the experience gained in that period to the Javalambre Physics of the Accelerating Universe Astrophysical Survey (JPAS), a survey which will map an area of 8000 square degrees of the sky. This project is conducted in a joint program between Spain and Brazil. Beyond a clear picture of the future light curves, the simulations might indicate the feasibility to use information regarding the host galaxy in the light curve standardisation process. In order to accomplish that, we shall analyse light curves and host galaxy data already available in the literature and investigate what might be expected from surveys like JPAS and PFS/SuMIRe. (AU)
