Abstract

Considering the currently profile of the HIV-infected patients, it is necessary the knowledge of the profile and the dental management of these patients. Patients with a good response to antiretroviral therapy, do not present restrictions to dental treatment, that it should be stablished based on local characteristics and the prevention of oral diseases. This study aimed to determine the clinical and laboratorial profile of the HIV-infected patients referred to a dental center for special needs patients, during 2005 and 2010, based on a retrospective analysis of dental records of the DAPE project.
