Abstract

Introduction: Crohn's disease (CD) is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and those most commonly involved are the distal small intestine and colon. Weight loss and malnutrition are the most prevalent nutritional disorder among patients can have a great influence on your general condition, in addition, we report low serum concentrations of antioxidant vitamins and minerals in patients with CD, mainly affecting the mechanism of oxidative stress. Objective: To compare the feeding habits, knowledge about diet and stage of behavior change with nutritional status in patients with Crohn's disease. Methods: To assess the nutritional status will analyze the body mass index and biochemical tests. Patients will be assessed for knowledge of healthy eating habits. For diagnosis of the eating pattern will be used Questionnaire Surveillance of Risk Factors and Protection for chronic non-communicable diseases (VIGITEL) and applying the 24-hour dietary recall (REC24h) or food diary. For evaluation of antioxidant vitamins and minerals will be made collect and analyze blood and urine of participants. As a tool for phase identification of behavioral change related to eating habits will use the transtheoretical model. (AU)
