Influence of the number of sessions dental bleaching on the pulp of Wistar rats

Abstract

The aim of this study is to assess the influence of the number of dental bleaching sessions on the coronal pulp of Wistar rats. Will be used 50 rats divided into 5 groups of 10 animals each. GI - 1 bleaching session, GII - 2 bleaching sessions; GIII - 3 bleaching sessions, GIV - 4 bleaching sessions, GV - 5 bleaching sessions. In all sessions, the animals will be anesthetized and will be held in the third molar tooth bleaching upper right. In the first week, the five groups will receive the whitening gel while the other groups receive a placebo gel. In the second-week groups, IV and V will receive the whitening gel while the other group a placebo gel. In the third week, groups III to V will receive the whitening gel and the other group a placebo gel. In the fourth week, groups II to V will receive the whitening gel, and group I will receive a placebo gel. In the last week of bleaching, all groups receive the whitening gel. After more than two days all the animals are sacrificed and the jaws removed and processed for evaluation in light microscopy. The tissue sections are stained with HE and evaluated by pre-established criteria by assigning scores to microscopic events. The results will be statistically analyzed by Kruskall Wallis and Dunn with a significance level of 5% (p <0.05).(AU)
