Abstract

Spain in recent decades, and invested in research projects in various forms of urban development that address issues related to social housing. Becoming thus an important reference in the world. The study of the recent solutions for densely populated areas of the city of Madrid and surroundings as well as related public policies, should contribute to the advancement of scientific and methodological guidelines of the Brazilian cases. This research, which complements other ongoing with assistance from FAPESP, aims to identify and develop theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches, related to the design process of social housing in densely populated areas, which meet the demands of urban Brazilian society today. To this end, there will be a critical analysis, in the terms used in this research project proposals related to the programs: a) Minha Casa Minha Vida e Pró-moradia, both of the "Ministério das Cidades" (Brazil); b) Plan Rehabilita e o Plan de Vivienda, da Consejería de Medio Ambiente, Vivienda y Ordenación del Territorio (Span) . The analysis of projects, faced with their theoretical frameworks and policies, and examples from other countries, should substantiate the creation of new methodological guidelines for designing projects and policies related to the HIS in densely populated urban areas.
