Abstract

It is objective of this research to study the bond stress between steel and concrete, when the conventional concrete is made with rubber substituting a part of natural aggregate. When the reinforced concrete is investigated, the bond stress is a indicative of the performance of stress transferred that exist on interface between steel bars and the concrete that get involved them. This stress can be obtained in pull out tests. These tests are standard and are realized in laboratories, but it exist a international proposal to do a less complicated test of pull out, using PET bottle as mold, to be used in constructions. The efficiency of this bond can be quantified through the bond stress versus displacement relation, that represents the stress variation on the interface between the steel and the concrete, relating to the relative displacement between the steel bar and the concrete. The concrete will have conventional strength the steel will be CA 50. This research will be part of the studies about the bond stress between steel and concrete that already begin in the PUC-Campinas under supervision of responsible professor of this proposal. The rubber diameter used are different among this research and the others already described here.
