Abstract

Theme: Long Latency Auditory Evoked Potentials in children with cochlear implants (CI). Objective: To analyze changes in the morphology and in the latency values in Cortical Auditory Evoked Potential before and three months after cochlear implantation in children. Methodology: Cross-sectional clinical study in a group of six children with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, which received surgical indication for cochlear implants. Cortical Auditory Evoked Potential will be measured in sound field condition in two different ways: prior to cochlear implant surgery and after three months of use. Scientific contributions: The results obtained in this study will demonstrated the maturation of the auditory system after CI use in children.
