Abstract

This project aims to analyze the development of Brazilian Music didactic Historiography during the 20th century by the historical, philosophical and methodological contextualization of representative works of this production. We intend to point, in these works, principles of observation, considering ideological aspects - as the presence, emphasis and approach of questions related do race, nation and sexuality - and methodological aspects. The selection of works to be analyzed will consider the didactic purpose of the books, their utilization - in the past or nowadays - in Brazilian music teaching, their informative/instructive character and their methodological and theoretical positions facing the musicological questions. At the end, we aim to compare the books, verifying the common points and the transformations in our didactic music historiography. Texts concerning the development of national and international historiography and Musicology will be used as theoretical references.Keywords: Brazilian Music Historiography, Historical Musicology
