Abstract

It is aimed to investigate the work relationship between professors of a public brazilian university with a good reputation, especially the possible conflicts between solid-career professors and the ones who had their doctorate after 1995. It is intended to assess peculiar traits of these relationships, so that it is possible to investigate how the inseparable logic aspects of the scientific fields practices configure, and also how the power relationship and the disputes for recognition and prestige. It is considered that the post graduation programs and the researcher professors have been subjected to a model of assessment of their productivity that tend to be legitimated by the pursuit of effectiveness speech and also that the policy adopted based on this model could result in individualism, competitiviness and weariness of the work relationships. The increasing demands and goals around quantitative ranks, not rarely trying to meet best results in short term, configure an aspect of the objective context of the brazilian public university researcher professor. It is perceived that the public university has got a strategic place in the achievement of the oriented elements in the State Reform, so that it can produce reconfiguration of the universities practices and cultures, with some possible implications in the work relationships. We start from the hypothesis that these reconfigurations can provoke the incetement of the conflicts between inseparable epistemologicals and politics interests that characterize the disputes and distribution of the scientific capital. It is intended to hold a qualitative assessment of speeches from intentional samples of professors to be interviewed. This sample will be selected based on the criteria defined in this project and also on data related to the scientific fields practices logic, such as the one indicated by the praxeological method by Pierre Bourdieu. Semi-structured interviews will be held about the life history and also the scientific-academic journey of ten university professors. The interviews will be preceded by the profile of the board of professors and by data collection that makes it possible to identify the institutional hierarchy and also in the scientific field. A variety of sources will be used, standing out CV data from Lattes Platform, so that it can identify which professor has got function in research-furtherance agencies, the ones who have productivity scholarship, the ones who have financed research projects, the ones who are part of publishing such as qualis A1, A2 and B1 or qualis B2, B3, B4. Institution documents that could be used for this research and for the selection of professors will also be checked as it is intended to interview the post graduation course coordinator, so that the post graduation practice of professors certification will be clearer.
