Abstract

The intensive industries in natural resources and energy, belonging to the intermediate goods sector, due to the intensification of pollution control and environmental risk in the larger centers tend to transfer the most impressive activities to regions peripheral. Small towns offer tax incentives, land donation and less institutional capacity in pollution control. The chemical industry, belonging to the intermediate goods sector, is considered the industry's most highly polluting water, air and soil. Since the 1980s, the chemical industry of São Paulo has a significant participation in the production of national chemical industry. In 1985, this sector had the highest representation of the industrial state of Sao Paulo. In recent decades, the chemical industry of São Paulo has a high industrial value added. The project proposed here aims to focus on physical distribution and development of the Chemical Industry in São Paulo.
