Abstract

This proposal aims to give continuity to the research presented in the project approved by FAPESP (n0 protocol 2010/02036-4), in addition to the complementary studies proposed in this project. The student was approved at the graduate program at the level of direct doctorate, due to the complexity and scientific relevance of the proposed work, being two years little time for the execution of the work, in addition, the candidate has presented profile and training. The proposal is to continue the work previously proposed, and to make the additional studies presented in this project, during the doctoral studies of the candidate. The financial resources of the proposed work was approved by the CNPq in Universal Announcement MCT/CNPq Nº 14/2009, and it has been executed by the candidate and by another student for a master's degree, with the aid of scholarship students. This project aims to study and understand the changes that occur in the population of the rumen microbial, by means of the Polymerase Chain Reaction in Real Time (qpcr), of steers Zebu when they are fed with different relations forage:concentrate and different sources of roughage in the diet, correlating with the data of ruminal pH, concentration of ammoniacal nitrogen (N-NH3) and Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA's), that have already been achieved in the project previously proposed.
