Abstract

Three-dimensional polymeric structures with high resolution arouse great interest in the fields of Optics, Photonics and Biomedicine. The doping of these structures, with one or more dopants, it is extremely important because it allows the fabrication of devices with specific characteristics. In Optics and Photonics, doping with compounds of interest allows changes in the structures optical properties, enabling applications in optics. In the biomedical field, these structures, doped or not, are used in the development of biomedical devices such as, production platforms for Tissue Engineering and drug delivery systems. However, there is great difficulty in producing sub-micrometric structures or even with high aspect ratios, because these are often fragile, inhibiting its use in devices. An alternative to solve this problem may be the production of structures with carbon nanotubes, added in the volume or surface of the polymer. Carbon nanotubes are known because of its extraordinary properties, allowing numerous improvements in the materials structure. In this project, we intend to produce structures with carbon nanotubes, using laser writing techniques and, subsequently, to investigate their mechanical and electrical properties. These structures should be further doped with organic dyes, aiming optics and photonics applications. We believe that besides improving the mechanical and electrical properties, the structures with carbon nanotubes will present very interesting properties for applications in technological devices.
