This proposal is devoted to the continuation and increment of research, development and innovation related with our work concerning CVD diamond and related materials, including the nanostructured carbon ones, which involve our Institution and other neighbor Research Groups. It is intended to get financial support for: new equipment, including all kinds of materials and services to improve new reactors, assembling, test and operation; different kinds of characterization techniques related with scientific and technological innovation; student formation; national and international cooperation. The proposal emphasizes: the development of techniques to grow CVD diamond, nano-crystalline diamond (NCD), diamond-like carbon (DLC) and carbon nanotubes (NTC); studies of adherence and stress of CVD diamond, NCD and DLC; fundamental studies in the tribology of these materials for space and industrial applications; electrochemical studies of boron doped CVD diamond and NCD for energy storage and effluent treatment; and studies of NTC in structural and tribological composites. All items need fundamental research and show high innovation potential and opportunity for technological transfer. (AU)
