Abstract

This project reflects on the status of Haitians who arrive in Brazil by the border of the states of Acre and Amazonas. It Will analyze how and why the Brazilian government, at first granted them the status of refugees, and from the second half of February 2011 came to determine them as immigrants, making the issue of Haitians a question for the CNIg (National Immigration Council)and no more of the CONARE (National Committee for Refugees). The research will be conducted from an anthropological perspective of documentary analysis of official statements from the Brazilian government and also other arguments on the subject.(AU)
