Abstract

Knowledge of the hemodynamic changes related to hypovolemia is relevant for patients suffering from trauma and that, in most cases, the only effective means of treatment are surgical procedures. Moreover, these procedures also may culminate in hemorrhage and hypovolemia due to accidents during surgery. Thus, the administration of anesthetics via intravertebral to perform procedures caudal to the diaphragm can be a viable alternative for patients with high anesthetic risk. Levobupivacaine is distinguished by lower cardiotoxicity and high analgesic potency, although it was reported that spinal anesthesia produces hemodynamic changes, especially hypotension. Lactate is produced by cells, especially under anaerobic conditions, which allows various interpretations important when associated with conditions such as hypotension and/or hypovolemia. Thus, the metabolite assumes an important role as a marker of potentially viable and efficient hemodynamic function. The rabbits were divided into four experimental groups, and they were induced to inhalational anesthesia with isoflurane and received levobuvacaína through a subdural or solution of sodium chloride 0.9%, or not subjected to hypovolemia, and the blood samples for assay lactate will be made in five pre-defined times. Thus the objective is, with this study was to evaluate the effects of levobupivacaine administered subdural on the hemodynamic parameters, through changes in blood lactate in hypovolaemic rabbits anesthetized with isoflurane.(AU)
