Abstract The present project aims the study of the chemical properties of the planetary nebulae population located towards the Galactic centre, as well as the study of the chemical evolution of barred spiral galaxies. In particular, the project aims spectrophotometric observations of low surface brightness planetary nebulae located in the direction of the galactic centre. These new data will provide information about the formation and evolution of the galactic bulge, and also new constraints for the bulge chemical evolution models. Furthermore, these new data will give information about the chemical abundance gradient in the direction of the galatic centre. So that, this project intends to acquire new physical parameters and chemical abundances of planetary nebulae located in this region using the SOAR telescope.Additionally, a chemical evolution model adapted to include radial gas flows will be applied to study the chemical evolution of the Milky Way and other barred spiral galaxies. In particular, this project intends to understand the role of the radial gas flows originated by central bars on the chemical distributions in this region and nearby regions close to the bar. | |
