Evaluation of sample obtained by bovine uterine flushing and biopsy by different forceps

Abstract

Uterine infections are caused by important prejudice in cattle breeding, which provokes a fertility decrease. It can be suggested that cytology evaluation, by uterine flushing and histopathological evaluation (from fragments obtained by uterine biopsies) are important tools for the diagnosis of bovine endometrial damage. Thus, this study is been developed aimed to evaluate the quantity and quality of material recovered by uterine physiologic solution flushing to endometrial cytology and to evaluate the procedures for uterine biopsies on quantity and quality of the tissue recovered by different forceps to uterine biopsies, the integrity of the uterine layers according to forceps used and the grade of uterine damage caused for it. Will be utilized 10 bovine uteri from the slaughterhouse, which will be submitted to uterine recovery to cytology analysis by saline solution flushing and will be obtained serial fragments using 4 different forceps to biopsy. Immediately after the material is recovered, it will be fixed, processed, included, sliced, colored, and analyzed by light microscopy and computer analysis image. The data will be submitted for analysis of variance and the media will be compared by the Fisher test, by SAS software (2010), the significant level considered will be 5%.(AU)
