Abstract

During the duration of the scholarship grantee conducted a study with a student undergraduates which suggests that it be used as in Experiment 1 development of the Master's thesis of the same, since the model used supplementation effectively increases rates conception. This study aimed to compare conception rates at 30 days of gestation in embryo recipients undergoing Embryo Transfer in Fixed Time (FTET), produced in vitro, supplemented or not with sunflower seeds. In Experiment 1, crossbred heifers Bos indicus x Bos taurus (n=237) were subjected to synchronization of estrus by using an intravaginal device and after removal of the implant were divided into two groups to receive one of the following treatments: 1.7 Kg / day of dietary supplement containing 40% soybean meal with 44% crude protein (CP) and 60% sunflower seed (Group Sunflower Seed, n = 117) or 1.7 kg / day of dietary supplement containing 53% of soybean meal with 44% CP and 47% corn (control group, n=120. The supplements provided to both groups were equally balanced in energy and protein, both with 72% TDN and 24% CP, but whether or not containing sunflower seeds. The supplement was provided for 22 consecutive days with the first day of intake the day of withdrawal of the intravaginal device. Blood samples were collected after removal of the device (D-1) on the day of FTET (D7) and the last day of supplementation (D20). Blood was homogenized and centrifuged and the plasma stored in microcentrifuge tubes at -20°C. The pregnancy diagnosis was performed 22 days after the embryos have been transferred by ultrasound. It was found that the pregnancy rate in Group Sunflower Seed was 55.5% (65/117) while the control group was 36.66% (44/120), with an increase of 19.30% in pregnancy rate of the group treated with sunflower seed (p<0.05). Based on these results it is proposed as a modification to the proposed master's project: a) use this study as a model receptor with biological and still intends to carry out the measurements on the plasma concentrations of total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL) and progesterone b) conducting a second experiment (Experiment 2) where Nelore cows (n=60), pluriparous in the postpartum period 40-80 days will be equally divided according to age, weight, sex of calf at foot, body condition score and condition to receive one of the following treatments: 40% of soybean meal with 44% crude protein (CP) and 60% sunflower seed (Sunflower Seed Group, n = 30) or 53% of soybean meal with 44% CP and 47% corn (control group, n=30), supplemented daily with 1.7 kg of supplement / day, where both groups, will undergo a uterus flushing and an endometrial biopsy in 7, 16 and 22 days considering the expected day for estrus D0 (using the same protocol as in Experiment 1), and for each day will be used 10 females for the Group Control Group and 10 females Sunflower Seed. The uterine flushing will be packaged at -80ºC and endometrial tissues at -196ºC for further analysis. The uterine flushing and endometrial tissue have the constitution lipid investigated (reviewed lipidômica) by using the technique of mass spectrometry and endometrial tissue collected at 7 and 16 days will be assessed by PCR for the different proteins involved in the cascade generating PGF2alpha endometrial. The hypothesis of this study is that females supplemented with sunflower seeds have higher conception rates by presenting changes in lipid profile endometrial condition that limits the synthesis of endometrial PGF2alpha favoring the recognition and maternal-fetal pregnancy rate.
