Abstract

In cattle herds, embryonic mortality is a major cause of reproductive failure. It is assumed that the higher the elongation and length greater conceptus interferon-tau production (IFNT), a condition that increases the chances of success in maternal fetal recognition. Thus promoting factors of greater proliferation of trophoblast cells become candidates to promote a reduction in early embryonic mortality, action mediated possibility of increased production IFNT the conceptus. it was hypothesized that the supplementation of the medium from bovine trophoblast cell cultures (CT1), linoleic and/or linolenic acid promotes an increase in trophoblast cell proliferation and production of IFNT. The overall objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of supplementation with linoleic and/or linolenic acid in different doses in cell proliferation CT1 and production IFNT. Thus become specific objectives: a) to evaluate the effects of different doses of linolenic acid in CT1 cell proliferation and production of ITFN (Experiment 1); b) evaluate the effects of different doses of linoleic acid on the CT1 cell proliferation and production ITFN in CT1 (Experiment 2) and c) assessing the effects of pre-determined doses (in Experiments 1 and 2), linolenic acid and/or linoleic acid, in CT1 cells proliferation and production of IFNT (Experiment 3) .Considerando economic losses caused by early embryonic mortality in cows, should it be proven a beneficial effect of supplementation with PUFA, specifically linolenic and/or linoleic acid, the proliferation of trophoblast cells, such a concept will determine the basis for the development of strategies to field that can reduce early embryonic mortality and improve conception rates in TAI and FTET programs.
