Abstract

This project of undergraduate scientific research seeks to understand the role of government performance in providing services and creating institutional mechanisms to promote the development of innovation in Ribeirão Preto, located in São Paulo state. This goal is pursued through an analysis in a comparative perspective between the Brazilian city and the Valencia Metropolitan Area, in Spain, wich presents an interesting case of "systemic" economy, with innovation policies characterized as plurals and decentralized.
