Abstract

Introduction: Urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) is involuntary loss of urine associated with miccional urgency and is associated with increase of urinary frequency and nocturia. The hypothesis of this study is that dysfunction of autonomic system responsible by control of voiding will compromise the vesical and Sphincteric activity, causing the UUI. Objetive: compare the cardiac autonomic modulation in women with and without urinary incontinence (UI), using the heart rate variability during the pelvic floor muscles contraction and postural change Method: transversal study with 72 women that divided in three groups: Stress Urinary Incontinence Group (SUIG); Urgency Urinary Incontinence Group (UUIG); Control Group (CG). The inclusion criteria: women with more 40 years old, body mass index equal or < 30kg/m2, women without cardiovascular disease, osteo-myo-articular, respiratory, neurological, vascular, urinary or vaginal infection; not be alcoholic or drug user, and not having undergone any treatment for UI or hormone replacement. The volunteers will be submitted four days of evaluation: First day: anamnesis, the King's Health Questionnaire (KHQ), the questionnaire Incontinence Severity Index (ISI) and will receive guidance on the test absorber 24 hours; Second day: devolution of absorbers and performance of the clinical exercise test; Third day: assessment of HRV in postural change, functional evaluation of pelvic floor muscle and surface electromyography; Fourth day: evaluation of HRV during the contraction of MAP. For statistical analysis we will use the Shapiro-Wilk test to assess the normality of the data. The correlation will be evaluated with Spearman correlation test. The level of significance will be of 5% (p d 0.05).
