Abstract

Although in recent decades the pharmaceutical industry has given attention to synthetic products, nowadays, the necessity of effective and with less adverse effects compounds have extended the research of alternative therapies, mainly of derivatives from plants. Previous studies from our group identify the Chlorella vulgaris and Green tea extract with potential immunomodulatory drugs. These products can also reduce the cellular proliferation and induce neoplasic cell death. The evidence of these species in modulate the molecular mechanism of cancer, allows their clinical utilization. Then, we intend to study the cell signaling related to action of these products in mice inoculated with leukemic cells, P39 and HL-60. Considering our experience and instrumentalization for pathophysiological investigation, we intend to study the cellular and molecular effects of these compounds.
