Abstract

Exposure to solar ultraviolet radiation can induce the formation of free radicals on the surface of human skin, accelerating skin aging, which may be evidenced by hyperpigmentation, which brings as a consequence increase in the number of melanocytes and the activity of enzymes melanogênicas, beyond the release of proinflammatory mediators produced by keratinocytes, such as interleukin-1± and endothelin-1 (ET-1). Recent studies have shown that trans-resveratrol (RES), because of its antioxidant properties, depigmenting and anti-inflammatory, can be an important ally in the treatment of alterations resulting from photoaging. This way, his skin administration would be appropriate in order to locate it on their site of action. However, some physical and chemical properties, such as limited aqueous solubility, hampering their effectiveness topical therapy, since it has low penetration in the skin. An alternative is the incorporation of nanostructured systems, such as nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC), which have been successfully employed in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic area because they have the ability to compartmentalize, efficiently, several groups of active substances, modifying their properties and behavior in biological environment. Such systems appear to be particularly advantageous when administered topically in virtue of their interaction with the stratum corneum and other layers of the skin, the ability of arrangement of the active substance with a protective effect and sustainer of release. In this project intends to develop and characterize, in the physical-chemical, NLC for the incorporation of RES, in order to optimize its use as a depigmenting agent in the treatment of cutaneous photoaging.(AU)
