Abstract

This research internship project is made as a means to broaden the aims of the Master's project in progress, called "Meanings constructed by relatives of mental disorders patients about family participation in treatment". In the context of the discussion about the inclusion of family in mental health treatments, while looking in the original project for the meanings constructed by these persons about the invitation to participate in the treatment of their relative under treatment in a Day-Hospital, we realized how some of the interviews happened as a dialogic space in which some of the researcher's stances itself could be understood as a way of inclusion. Therefore, this research internship aims to analyze the communication process occurring in these interviews, allowing the reflection specifically upon: a) the interview as a coordinated activity of meaning making, and b) the dialogic relationship built between the researcher and the person being interviewed, as a possibility to perform the inclusion of the relative in the treatment. With that, we expect to be able to give visibility to the knowledge produced by this research as a relational achievement and situated in social interaction, seeking to discuss, on one hand, about its singleness and specificity and, on the other, about its utility to the construction of social practices regarding both the inclusion of family in mental health treatment and research as action.
