Abstract

Although recognized as a compelling voice in Portuguese contemporary poetry, the work of Al Berto lacks extensive academic research and circulation in Brazil. The lack of books or anthologies edited here or the still limited number of dissertations and theses about him is indicative of that deficiency. Thus, the primary goal of our research is not only do the survey at the estate of the poet - about which there is no records in Brazil - as well as search and collection of critical essays on Al Berto which is dispersed in books without Brazilian edition and articles never collected from academic journals, newspapers and magazines. The period of stay will also allow not only visits to cultural centers dedicated to contemporary art but also interviews and meetings with renowned experts on contemporary poetry. (AU)
