Abstract

It is essential that the irrigated agriculture develops its activities in a sustainable manner, based on the rational use of soil and water. It is important to have a criterion for irrigation scheduling, based on instrumentation and sensors, allowing to define the appropriate irrigation moment and the crop water requirement. Thus the improvement of knowledge about installation, management and interpretation of data obtained from sensors and instruments to monitor soil moisture will be very useful for the student, which research topic is just irrigation scheduling.
