Abstract The questions and problems regarding men and masculinities, within feminist discussions, have been more and more relevant during the last three decades since the rise of critics of hegemonic masculinity models, which made possible the comprehension of the multiple masculinities, arranged with power relations. That approach, in which Professor Raewyn Connell is one of the pioneers, contributes to the understanding of the relation between masculinities and femininities and many social issues (education, health, media etc), which can be noticed by the great growing of publications in the area. With that in mind, this project aims to execute a training program that allows for a deeper theoretical and methodological studies on masculinities, gender and education, through readings, discussions, data collection and analysis of the results, in the context of the researches done by the studies groups from the overseas institution. This deepening aims for a theoretical and analytical enrichment for the masters program, whose objective is to understand the relation between girls and boys schooling and the construction of masculinities and femininities in the context of familiar socialization, from the point of view of the children, who not only share theoretical and practical references with the studies group of interest, but are also based on Prof. Connell's studies.
