Abstract

Contemporary society has changes that mark new ways of living, new evil stares, and new forms of subjectivity. In the current context, psychopathology seems to reset the changes ahead, as a morally weakened, breaking the bond and otherness. From this observation, this research theoretical-reflexive aims to reflect and understand the settings of hysterical neurosis before the changes occurring in contemporary society. Through the work of Freud and the psychoanalytic method, we try to resume his hysterical time to thus be able to raise a discussion that refers to the look of the contemporary psychoanalytic authors such as Birman, Alonso, Fuks, Kehl, Dor aiming at a reflection on the resonances of the social, political and cultural configuration of the tables of hysteria today. It is hoped that this research can contribute to discussions on the contemporary psychoanalytic practice, thinking what are the possible repercussions of such changes to the social structure of symptoms and the demands brought by patients.(AU)
