This scientific initiation is a development of two years of previous research in the field that constitutes its empirical object and expects its results to collaborate on the elaboration of a final monograph of under graduation course. The general purpose of this proposal is to contribute to understand the relationships between State and social movements, taking as empirical field the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) social movement in the city of Campinas. The analysis of these relations takes place from the recovery of the process of proposition and implementation of a public policy focused: the Social LGBT Center of Campinas. The analysis will explore the production of boundaries and conventions about State, civil society or social movement, as well as the contextual assignment of roles to each of these actors. The hypotheses which is being explored is the place that objects occupy, such as public policy documents, in this network of relationships and in the process of assigning roles and boundaries. The project methodology is qualitative, which is intended, is to perform a more condensed analysis of the interviews already conducted, comparison with ethnographic material produced in the years 2010 and 2011 and completion of field research, including document analysis in order to consider the process of collective production of documents.
