Abstract

The knowledge of arboviruses epidiomogical e biological aspects, like wild cycle, host range, seasonality, dissemination, occurence area, evolutionary history and genetic diversity, are crucial to define strategies for prevention and control by the government's health a epidemiology surveillance agencies. Therefore, this research project aim to: (1) study the occurence of flaviviruses by ELISA in bats, rodents and marsupials, captured in the States of São Paulo and Minas Gerais; (2) proceed with RT-PCR in order to detect flaviviruses genomes on the samples that were positive at ELISA screening; (3) sequence the obtained amplicons; (4) carry out philogenetic studies which could contribute to elucidate the natural history of arboviruses in Brazil.
