Abstract This project proposes a study of the concept of "cruel poetic reason", brought by Maurice Blanchot in his book L'entretien infini (1969) to refer to the poetic thought which exemplary embodiment would be Antonin Artaud's texts. Although this idea to have a brief mention in the Blanchot's work, it's strongly related to the "thought of the neutral", center of the Blanchot's work, so it seems important to study it with more dedication. The proposal here is to broaden the horizon of understanding of the "cruel poetic reason" from a study of this concept in the context 1) of the "thought of the neutral", e 2) the reading of L'Art et la mort (Artaud, 1929). From these two movements, we could understand the "cruel poetic reason" as a conjunction between poetry and thinking, and explain how the requirements of the "cruel poetic reason" happen textually, from a reading of Artaud guied by the Blanchot's notes in in "La cruelle raison poetique" (1969). In this movement, we aim to better understand the "cruel poetic reason" and, as thinking that is done in writing, the thought of the neutral. | |
