Abstract

The objective of this project is to develop ways for programming transmission/reception circuits for activating ultrasound array transducers for image beamforming. The programming of such transducers shall be incorporated in the efforts for developing of a low cost ultrasound scanner with Brazilian technology for application in medicine. This equipment will contribute to the appropriation of very complex technology in our country. The equipment shall be transferred to industries of the Brazilian Health Industry Sector and is a partnership of several Brazilian universities and research institutes (UNICAMP, USP, UFSCar, UTFPR, Incor/SP, UFRJ, IPE - Eldorado Research Institue). The programs shall be tested in the Ultrasound Laboratory of the Biomedical Engineering Center at UNICAMP, using commercial phantoms available in our laboratory, equipment recently acquired with 64 channels transmitter/receiver circuitry, 20 element and 64 element ultrasound transducers.(AU)
