Abstract

This project has as an objective to describe the aspects of usage and history of conjuctional paratactic constructions of Brazilian Portuguese, prioritizing the identification and the description of the paratactic constructions involved in grammaticalization processes. Focus relies on the emergence of junctors, especially on the comprehension of the categorial change (transit between source and target categories) and the semantic and cognitive change (transit among macro systems). Given that there is a correlation between junction schemes and the discursive tradition in which the text is inserted (Kabatek, 2006) in the sense that tradition conditions the usage of certain linguistic constructions, the analysis will be done from enunciations extracted from plays, personal letters and media letters - texts that supposedly bring revealing data of a heterogeneous writing, which is constituted by a complex intertwining of oral and written social practices.
